You will study fundamental geological and biological processes and apply them to mineral exploration and resource extraction and groundwater resources. You'll also learn how to manage ecosystems and rehabilitate landscapes impacted by salt degradation and resource extraction activity, gaining a strong combination of skillsets for resources extraction and environmental protection.
You need a guaranteed ATAR or equivalent of 70, along with the essential prerequisite subject Mathematics Applications ATAR (or equivalent). You must also meet Curtin's English language requirements. There are various entry pathways available including secondary education, higher education, VET/TAFE, and STAT, each with their own specific criteria.
The double degree takes 4 years to complete when studied full-time. It is available at Curtin Perth with intakes in both Semester 1 and Semester 2 of the 2026 academic year.
The 2026 domestic indicative Commonwealth-supported first-year fee is $9,000. This is based on a first-year full-time study load of 200 credit points and does not include other fees like administrative and incidental fees or the cost of textbooks. All Australian students studying an undergraduate degree are automatically awarded a Commonwealth supported place, which is subsidised by the Australian Government, with students able to defer their contribution to a HECS-HELP loan.
