Bachelor of Applied Public Health

The Bachelor of Applied Public Health (BAppPH) is an undergraduate degree of Australian Catholic University, set out in the ACU Handbook for 2023. ACU publishes no separate course overview for this award, so the handbook's completion requirements are the fullest account of what students study. The degree carries 240 credit points and has a minimum duration of three years full-time or the equivalent part-time, and its approved teaching location is ACU's Melbourne campus. To qualify, a student completes 140 credit points of specified public health units, 50 credit points of inter-professional units, 20 credit points of health promotion units, 20 credit points from ACU's Core Curriculum and 10 credit points of elective units. The specified public health sequence recorded in the handbook runs from Foundations of Public Health, Foundations of Public Health Communication and Epidemiology, through Globalisation, Environment and Health, Public Health Research Methods, Public Health Economics, Public Health Emergency Response and Public Health Community Engagement, to Applied Public Health 1 and 2, Applied Public Health Communication and Public Health Advocacy. Across the five parts of the course the handbook lists 33 units and unit groupings from which the required credit points are drawn. Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator, and in all aspects of progress through the course they are advised by the Course Coordinator.
