Yes. The Master of Physiotherapy component is accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Successful graduates are eligible for membership of the Physiotherapy Board of Australia enabling them to practise in Australia. Students must be registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia to be eligible to undertake clinical placements during their studies.
You'll complete supervised professional practice (work-integrated learning) in a range of settings, including elite sports, private practice, acute care and rehabilitation clinics, aged care, and community care. Students must pass essential pre-requisite units before undertaking clinical placements and must also meet pre-placement requirements including Police Check, Working with Children Check, immunisation records, First Aid and CPR certification.
The indicative fee for a full-time student in 2026 is AU$9,537 per year for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). Australian citizens, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens will qualify for a CSP place, which is subsidised by the government. You may also be able to get a HELP loan to pay for your studies, repaid through the tax system once you earn above the compulsory repayment threshold.
Students have access to a world-class sport and learning precinct at the Footscray Park Campus, which features the most advanced exercise technology available. Facilities include exercise physiology labs, biomechanics labs, motor learning and skilled performance labs, heat chambers, motor control and biofeedback labs, and integrated teaching and learning facilities. These facilities are used by students, researchers, professional sports teams and community organisations.
Applicants with higher education study need to have completed at least two semesters of an Australian Higher Education award (or equivalent) in health or medical sciences, OR completion of an Australian Higher Education award (or equivalent) in any discipline. For second year entry, applicants must have completed 8 first-year units as outlined in the course structure of the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (HBBS), Bachelor of Biomedical and Exercise Science (HBES), or Bachelor of Biomedicine (HBBM). Note that places are limited and applicants will be competitively ranked based on their course WAM.
