Common Questions
The Honours year involves designing a research program in your chosen area of interest in consultation with one or more supervisors. Your research program may include components in more than one area of science or arts (eg: physiology and biology) and depending on the nature of your project you may also have to undertake some courses in experimental design or complete technical training to use a particular piece of equipment.
Generally, the Honours year after the Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science (Advanced) consists of three components: a supervised but independent research program, additional courses in experimental design/technical training, and some coursework units of study (classes). However, there may be variations depending on the school or discipline area in which you complete honours.
The Advanced stream requires an ATAR of 95.0. For transfer students, a WAM of 70.0 is required, and to remain in the stream, students must maintain a WAM of 65.0 in each 48 credit point block.
For Semester 1, the closing date is 31 January of the commencing year. For Semester 2, the closing date is 15 July of the commencing year. Separate deadlines apply for scholarship applications.
Applicants must complete a Science Table A major in which a minimum of 24 credit points of advanced units of study at the 2000-level and higher are taken, with at least 12 credit points at the 3000-level.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
