The course offers ten specialisations: Aerospace engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Environmental engineering, Electrical and computer systems engineering, Materials engineering, Mechanical engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics engineering, and Software engineering. Note that Aerospace engineering and Environmental engineering are not available at Monash University Malaysia in 2026, and Biomedical Engineering is not available in any double degree courses.

The Master's Accelerated Pathway (available at Clayton campus) allows high-achieving students to fast-track from the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) into the Master of Engineering. By attaining a weighted average mark of 60% by the end of level 2, you qualify to use four electives during your Bachelor's to complete Master's-level units. Successful completion of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a minimum 65% average then enables direct entry to the Master of Engineering with only 24 credit points (approximately half a year) of study remaining. The pathway is available for Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer Systems, Environmental, Materials, Mechanical, and Robotics and Mechatronics engineering specialisations.

Yes. The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer and by the Engineering Accreditation Council of Malaysia. It is recognised under the Washington Accord, enabling graduates to work worldwide in any signatory country without re-qualifying. The Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) is also accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at the professional-level membership standard. The Biomedical Engineering specialisation has achieved provisional accreditation by Engineers Australia, with full accreditation pending the initial graduating cohort.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) can be combined with: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer Systems, Materials, and Mechanical engineering only), Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Computer Science (Algorithms and software specialisation combined with Electrical and Computer Systems, Robotics and Mechatronics, or Software engineering), Bachelor of Information Technology (Electrical and Computer Systems, Robotics and Mechatronics, or Software engineering), Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer Systems, Materials, or Mechanical engineering), Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Architectural Design (Civil engineering only), Bachelor of Design (Industrial design and Mechanical engineering only), and Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Chemical engineering only). Biomedical Engineering is not available in any double degree.

The course requires 192 credit points to complete. It is structured into five parts: Part A (Engineering fundamentals and design studies – 30 credit points), Part B (Breadth studies – 18 credit points), Parts C, D and E (Specialist studies – 144 credit points), and Engineering minors (24 credit points). The course develops through four themes: fundamentals and breadth study, design, knowledge and applications, and professional practice.

If you have not completed Australian VCE (Units 3 & 4) or equivalent Specialist Mathematics and/or Physics with the required study score, you will need to enrol in the foundation units ENG1090 (Mathematics foundation) and/or PHS1001 (Physics foundation) at the commencement of your degree.
