Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Global Studies

The course offers ten specialisations: Aerospace engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Environmental engineering, Electrical and computer systems engineering, Materials engineering, Mechanical engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics engineering, and Software engineering. Note that Aerospace engineering and Environmental engineering are not available at Monash University Malaysia in 2026, and Biomedical Engineering is not available in any double degree combination.

The Masters Accelerated Pathway is available at the Clayton campus for most specialisations. By attaining a weighted average mark of 60% by the end of level 2, you can use four electives in your Bachelor's to complete Master's-level units. Successful completion of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a minimum 65% average then enables direct entry to the Master of Engineering, with only 24 credit points (half a year) of additional study required to complete the Master's degree.

Yes. The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) can be combined with a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Architectural Design, Bachelor of Design, or Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Each combination has specific specialisation restrictions, and Biomedical Engineering is not available in any double degree course.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) requires 192 credit points in total. These are divided across Part A (Engineering fundamentals and design studies, 30 credit points), Part B (Breadth studies, 18 credit points), and Parts C, D and E (Specialist studies, 144 credit points), with engineering minors worth 24 credit points.

Yes. The degree is accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer and by the Engineering Accreditation Council of Malaysia. It is also recognised under the Washington Accord, allowing graduates to work in any signatory country without re-qualifying. The Software Engineering specialisation is additionally accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS). The Biomedical Engineering specialisation has achieved provisional accreditation by Engineers Australia, pending full accreditation based on the initial graduating cohort.

All students begin with a common first year that develops foundational engineering skills through practical hands-on design-and-build activities. During this year you are exposed to various branches of engineering. At the conclusion of the first year, you nominate your branch of engineering for further specialised study from year two onwards.
