Bachelor of Arts and Master of Nursing

The Bachelor of Arts and Master of Nursing is a combined degree that allows you to develop your analytical skills, think independently and form and articulate judgements based on argument and evidence while exploring different branches and interest in arts and social sciences. You will complete a major or program from the Arts and Social Sciences disciplinary pool, along with any elective units as needed to make up the required credit points for the course taken from the disciplinary pool or the shared pool. Additionally, you will complete units from the Open Learning Environment, and any elective units as needed to make up the required credit points for the course. Your first year will be made up of only Arts and Social Science units and you will commence nursing units from second year onwards. You must meet a satisfactory academic standard and complete 48 credit points to progress to the Master of Nursing (MN). The MN is a prescribed course of study focusing on culturally safe and person-centred nursing practice across the lifespan with people from diverse cultures and contexts. You will also complete professional experience placement in private and public health facilities including speciality areas such as mental health, community health and high acuity settings. Due to the professional practice requirements and the integrated structure of the course, exchange units in both arts and nursing are not available.
