Common Questions
The Personal Statement is part of the application process and provides an opportunity for you to share your passion and motivations for pursuing teaching, as well as experiences that have prepared you for this pursuit. It requires you to address five criteria: Communication and relational capabilities, Self-awareness and self-management, Motivation to teach, Willingness to learn, and Organisational and planning skills — two of which are Inherent Requirements for the course.
Each response in the Personal Statement should be between 200–300 words. Responses must use professional language with accurate grammar and punctuation, written in sentences and paragraphs — dot points are not acceptable.
Yes. If you are a Secondary Teaching applicant who completed your degree five or more years ago, you must also address a sixth criterion — 'Up to date discipline knowledge' — explaining how you have kept up to date in the field in which you plan to work. This response should be no longer than 250 words.
No. The use of any form of artificial intelligence (AI) is strictly prohibited in the completion of your Personal Statement.
You can apply via TISC or direct to UWA. Once you have chosen the course, you complete your application, submit your Personal Statement online, and then wait to receive your application outcome. For further enquiries, you can contact Student Central at 131 UWA (131 892) or email Ask UWA.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
