Common Questions
No, the Bachelor of Arts (Architecture) alone is not sufficient to become a registered architect. It can be a pathway to further study in the Master of Architecture program, which is a necessary step in becoming a registered architect. However, graduates are able to enter into the built environment industry as future specialists, technical experts and consultants.
You can choose a Minor from the following disciplines: Archaeology, Business Studies, English Literature, Environmental Management, History, Journalism, Marketing and Public Relations, Philosophy, Politics and International Relations, and Social Justice. Popular Minors that work well with Architecture are Archaeology, History, Environmental Management and Photography.
The indicative ATAR/Selection Rank for the Bachelor of Arts (Architecture) is 70 (which includes ATAR plus Adjustment Factors), or an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 25. There are also alternative entry pathways for applicants with higher education, VET study, or work and life experience.
The program combines theory classes with practical studios. In the theory classes, you will analyse the world we live in, and you'll apply this knowledge and skills in studios as you design built environments and speculate about future possibilities for human occupation and ecological repair. The program also includes classes in ethics and philosophy as part of the Core Curriculum, and the opportunity to study a Minor in a complementary discipline.
While not a requirement, internship courses and work-integrated learning opportunities are available to enable you to gain on-the-job experience with professionals in your chosen field. Students can also immerse themselves in other cultures through international exchange programs, study tours, and professional placements, as well as global experiences, volunteer opportunities and cross-cultural initiatives designed to develop global citizenship.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
