Yes, students will complete the Career Pathways unit as part of this course, which is a professional practice unit consisting of choreography, rehearsal, and performance. Students are allowed two weeks (preferably one in each semester) to complete one or two placements. Placement hours for the Career Pathways units will usually vary between 10 and 30 hours, depending on how many hours the host organisation is able to offer.
This course has a modified timetable. Students should be aware that there are non-standard timetable requirements, including evening performances and rehearsals three times yearly.
Yes, students who have completed the WAAPA Advanced Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) or Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance (Elite Performance) follow a different course structure in Year 3, which includes units such as Elite Ballet 1 and Elite Ballet 2, along with Performance and Career Pathways. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
