Yes, as part of RMIT's 2026 pilot for domestic applicants, you can meet the minimum English language requirements through an approved proficiency test. For undergraduate degrees, the minimum scores are: IELTS Academic 6.5 (no band less than 6.0), TOEFL iBT overall 79 (with minimums per section), PTE Academic 58 (no communication band less than 50), or C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 176 (no less than 169 in any component). Note that tests must be valid within 2 years of the test date.
Yes, applicants applying through the Schools Network Access Program (SNAP) or the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Access Program have their English study score requirement reduced by 5 points below the published score for bachelor degrees.
Applicants with Australian interstate Year 12 or New Zealand NCEA Level 3 qualifications are accepted, provided they achieve a study score in an English course deemed equivalent to VCE requirements. For NCEA Level 3, applicants must have achieved 18 credits in the equivalent courses. Equivalent courses can be identified via VTAC's Interstate subject guide to Victorian prerequisites.
No, RMIT does not accept IELTS General for admission into its university programs, including the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art). Only IELTS Academic (or IELTS Academic One Skill Retake) is accepted. Additionally, RMIT does not accept scores from 'at-home' or 'online' testing.
