About This Course

The Bachelor of Arts Honours program provides an initiation into independent research. Through its core units, graduates gain a robust understanding of research and fundamental knowledge, empowering them to carry out and proficiently present their independent research across a chosen field of interest. Equipped with the requisite knowledge and skills, students will learn to conduct ethical research, foster positive working relationships, and appropriately acknowledge intellectual property rights. During the course, students will work closely with their research supervisor to develop a high-quality research thesis, industry project or sustained creative work project. At CDU, you'll have the one-on-one support and flexibility to design a bespoke research project that aligns with and develops your talents and interests. Graduates will have developed a level of expertise in a number of key discipline majors available for study and will have been immersed in an environment of locally based, social and cultural issues and practices which will have an impact upon their professional practice, further study and/or research.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Successful completion of a recognised Bachelor degree or equivalent international qualification with at least a credit average (GPA of 5.00).
You must contact CDU's Faculty of Arts and Society by email to fas@cdu.edu.au prior to submitting an application to discuss a potential project and supervision arrangements.
Entry into the course will be subject to the availability of supervision, dependent on the research interests of the applicant.
English Language Requirements (Domestic): Successful completion of Year 12 within Australia, or an equivalent qualification from an approved country where English is the official language; OR at least 0.5 FTE of higher education study from Australia or an approved country; OR successful completion of a Charles Darwin University enabling program of at least 0.5FTE (40 credit points); OR successful completion of a recognised TAFE qualification at Certificate III level or higher from Australia; OR current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 or Division 2 nurse; OR completion of an approved English test within two years of commencement.
English Test Minimums (Undergraduate): IELTS Academic: Overall 6.0, no band below 6.0 | Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): Overall 169, no skill below 169 | PTE Academic: Overall 50, no score below 50 | TOEFL iBT: Overall 60, minimum writing score 21.
English Language Requirements (International): CDU EAP4 (ZEAP40) successful completion; OR IELTS Academic minimum overall 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; OR Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) minimum overall 176, no skill below 169; OR Common European Framework Certificate minimum C1; OR PTE Academic minimum overall 58 with no score lower than 50; OR TOEFL iBT minimum overall 79 with minimum writing score of 21.
