Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation - Bachelor of Creative Arts

The Ramsay Centre for Western Civilisation has generously donated funding for the UOW Ramsay Scholarship, valued at up to $20,000 per annum for up to three (3) years. Scholarship recipients enjoy access to a dedicated study lounge, small class sizes, academic mentoring, and an opportunity to engage in a bespoke scholarly experience. Applicants must complete both the Bachelor of Arts in Western Civilisation online application and a separate UOW Ramsay Scholarship online application, which requires a 1-page CV and a written essay.

All applicants must submit a written application during the designated period and upload an essay response for the application to be considered complete. Once assessed, eligible applicants will be invited to take part in a telephone interview with UOW. Essay topics and details on the application process are available at the UOW School of Liberal Arts webpage. Applications for the 2027 intake will open on 15 June 2026.

In the Bachelor of Creative Arts, you will gain the skills to become a practicing artist, developing practical skills in your chosen discipline as well as the theoretical knowledge to understand how creative art functions in contemporary cultural, political and artistic environments.

A double degree at UOW provides a world-class qualification in less time and at less cost than studying the two degrees separately. Having a double degree will give you a competitive advantage in a crowded job market.

As a full-time student, you can expect to commit around 48 hours of study per week. This includes class time and independent study. You may need to factor in more time for examination study and practical work and placements.
