Common Questions
Yes. Western Sydney University is the only university in Australia whose undergraduate program is fully endorsed by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI), so graduates are well on their way to a professional career as an Interpreter or Translator.
The languages offered at Western Sydney University are Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese and Spanish. You can also complete minor studies in advanced language, cultural studies and linguistics.
Applicants need any two units of English and a high level of proficiency (native or near-native level) in one of the languages offered in the program (Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese or Spanish). Please consult the handbook for more information.
The program takes 3 years full time and is also available part time, though the part-time option is not available to International Students on a Student Visa.
The indicative annual fee for domestic students is from $11,885. A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is subsidised by the Commonwealth Government, meaning the Australian Government pays part of your fees and the remaining amount — your Student Contribution — is paid by you. Fee estimates are indicative only and subject to change.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
