Common Questions
Students are encouraged to commence the application process in their final year of the Bachelor of Languages, or equivalent degree at another institution. Standard closing dates are 15 January for Semester 1 and 25 June for Semester 2. The University strongly encourages applicants to apply as early as possible, as offers are made on a rolling basis and places are limited.
Yes, before submitting a course application you will need to secure an academic supervisor. You may need to meet with your proposed supervisor to see if they are able to supervise your honours program and discuss your proposed research topic, and you should provide evidence of their support with your application. Contact the honours coordinator in the relevant faculty or school for information about honours projects and potential supervisors.
You will complete two seminar units of study, selected from the Bachelor of Languages (Honours) table, giving you the knowledge and skills required to undertake research in your chosen language area, and produce a research thesis under the guidance of a dedicated supervisor.
The Bachelor of Languages (Honours) has two intake dates: Semester 1 starting in February and Semester 2 starting in August.
Separate scholarship deadlines apply — you should check the scholarships website for details, as the closing dates for scholarships differ from the standard application closing dates.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
