Yes. Students will undertake regular timetabled classes during teaching weeks and intensive modular projects in specialist areas. Rehearsals and performances for large-scale productions require some evening and weekend commitments outside regularly timetabled hours. Overall scope of commitment is confined to WAAPA's timetable.
In Year 3, students complete core units and then choose from specialisation options. In Semester 1 they select one of: Music Theatre Dance Specialisation 1 (MTH3251), Professional Voice (ACT3003), or Acting for Camera (MTH3402). In Semester 2 they select one of: Music Theatre Dance Specialisation 2 (MTH3252), Acting for Camera (MTH3402), or Directing Workshop (PMA2003). As an alternative, students may complete the 30 credit point Acting for Screen (ACT3004), which is a full year unit running across both semesters.
Graduates will be able to apply skills and knowledge of theory, methods and techniques required of the professional performer in musical theatre; exercise critical thinking and judgement in researching theatrical works; employ creative thinking to anticipate and solve interpretive problems and innovate; use digital information and communication technologies to support creative practice and manage professional identity; communicate clearly in a professional context; demonstrate a global outlook and respect for diversity including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; work collaboratively with other professionals according to relevant ethical and professional standards; and exercise self-reflection and responsibility in developing artistic practice and managing personal and professional growth.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
