Yes, as part of RMIT's 2026 pilot program, domestic applicants can meet minimum English language requirements through approved proficiency tests. For undergraduate entry, the required scores are: IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with no band less than 6.0; TOEFL iBT overall 79; Pearson PTE (Academic) 58 with no communication band less than 50; or C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency 176 with no less than 169 in any component. Note that IELTS (General) is not accepted.
Yes. Applicants applying to RMIT through the Schools Network Access Program (SNAP) or the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Access Program are eligible for an English study score that is 5 points lower than the published study score for bachelor degrees.
No, RMIT does not accept scores from 'at-home' or 'online' testing. Additionally, IELTS (General) is not accepted — only IELTS (Academic) or IELTS (Academic) One Skill Retake are recognised. English proficiency test results must be valid within 2 years of the test date, and tests outside this validity period are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
For entry to a bachelor degree such as the Bachelor of Arts (Photography), post-secondary study requirements can be met through either the satisfactory completion of 2 undergraduate level courses equivalent to at least 24 RMIT University credit points, or the satisfactory completion of an AQF accredited award at certificate IV or above (or equivalent).
