Common Questions
No, this degree alone will not qualify you to be a practicing psychologist. The Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) is accredited as the first three years of study. To complete the four years required for provisional registration, you must complete an Honours year. An additional two years of education and training is then necessary for general registration, either through a fifth year at university plus one year of supervised practice in the community, or an approved postgraduate degree accredited at the fifth and sixth year level.
The minimum Selection Rank for guaranteed entry is 75. Your Selection Rank is your ATAR or IB Combined Rank plus any adjustment factors you are eligible to receive, such as adjustments based on the subjects you study, the location of your school, or your eligibility for equity and access schemes.
Yes, you can combine your psychology major with other disciplines available in the Bachelor of Arts degree to expand your understanding of human experience and broaden your career options. Double degree options listed include the Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) – Bachelor of Laws and the Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) – Bachelor of Business.
Students with an excellent academic record may apply to transfer to the four-year Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), or apply for the Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) after completion. Both options provide eligibility for provisional registration by the Psychology Board of Australia and a pathway to further study to become a psychologist. General registration requires an additional two years of education and training beyond the Honours year.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
