About This Course

ACU's Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Business blends professional business skills with studies in the humanities, giving you two degrees with only one extra year of study. As you follow your passions you develop the skills at the heart of the new economy - creative thinking, problem-solving, communication and critical analysis - and graduate ready to launch into your career through ACU's Future Ready employability program, which builds your professional identity, experience, job-ready skills and networks. The arts side offers more than 20 majors and minors across humanities, social sciences and visual arts, teaching you to think systematically and critically, gather and evaluate evidence from diverse sources, communicate clearly and apply ethical principles to decision making. The business side offers majors and minors such as accounting, business administration, finance, marketing, data analytics, human resources, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and sustainability in business, with all business units embedded with the United Nations sustainable goals. The double degree totals 320 credit points: 180 credit points of business units, 120 credit points of arts units and 20 credit points of ACU Core Curriculum. Practical skills are built in through up to 175 hours of workplace and community experience, including 105 hours of industry placement in your specialisation and 35 to 70 hours working with not-for-profit organisations, alongside interactive workshops and gamified business simulations based on real-world situations. Artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics and cloud skills are wired into your studies so you can add Microsoft certifications, and an intercultural communication module, Global Virtual Classroom, Rome Campus study and international study tours extend your cross-cultural experience. The Bachelor of Business is AACSB-accredited.

General Requirements

Domestic students

An applicant must comply with ACU's Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:
- New South Wales: Assumed knowledge - English (Standard) (Band 2), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) (Band 3). Assumed knowledge for a Mathematics major or minor: Mathematics (not Mathematics General 2). Recommended studies for a Visual Arts minor: Visual Arts
- Queensland: Assumed knowledge - English (Units 3 & 4, C)
- Victoria: Prerequisites - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL
ACU lists the indicative ATAR for this course as "New", so no selection rank has been published yet.
Applicants who have completed at least two units of AQF-recognised study at bachelor level or above are assigned a new selection rank reflecting their study level, duration and grade point average; prior study or relevant work experience aligned with the learning outcomes of units in the course may earn credit or recognition of prior learning, which can shorten the time to complete.
ACU also assesses applicants on prior VET study, and on work and life experience.

International students

International applicants need the equivalent of an Australian Year 12 Certificate, and must comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy, including the English Language Proficiency requirements.
International students completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (either outside or in Australia), an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, or a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 must apply for admission through their local Tertiary Admission Centre (TAC) and are assessed on their performance in those studies (i.e. ATAR or equivalent).
Subject prerequisites are the same as those listed for domestic applicants.
