Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce

The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Commerce (BA/BCom) is a double degree of Australian Catholic University, set out in the ACU Handbook for 2026. ACU publishes no separate course overview for the award, so the handbook's completion requirements are the fullest account of what students study. The double degree carries 320 credit points and has a minimum duration of four years full-time or the equivalent part-time. Approved locations are Brisbane, Melbourne and Strathfield; the handbook adds that students in Sydney are normally located at the Strathfield campus but undertake their business units at North Sydney, and that ACU will endeavour to minimise travel between the NSW campuses on the same day. On the commerce side, a student completes 60 credit points of specified business units, among them Financial Literacy, Marketing Essentials, Managing People and Organisations and Information Technology in Action, then 80 credit points in a Bachelor of Commerce major in accounting, human resource management or marketing, and a further 40 credit points either in a commerce minor in one of those same fields or as commerce electives. On the arts side, a student completes an 80 credit point major other than business studies and a 40 credit point minor other than business studies, or 40 credit points of electives from the Bachelor of Arts schedule, together with 20 credit points of Core Curriculum units. Students follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide unless otherwise approved, and are advised throughout by the Course Adviser.
