General Requirements

Domestic Entry Requirements

Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (QCE, WACE, HSC, SACE, etc.), like your Year 12 certificate or equivalent; OR
Completion of a Certificate IV level qualification, or higher, issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF); OR
For applicants who do not meet the above entry criteria, refer to SAE's Experience Based Entry scheme.

International Entry Requirements

International students must be 18 years or above when they arrive in Australia to commence studies.
Completion of Year 12 English at an Australian secondary school or college, or equivalent.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Academic IELTS minimum overall band of 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5 completed in the last two years (or equivalent); OR
Completion of Year 12 English in an Australian secondary school or college or equivalent with a minimum result of "Satisfactory" or equivalent.
Successful completion of an Academic English program with an SAE-approved Australian-based English partner (refer to SAE International Study Pathways for more information).

How long does the Fast Track Bachelor of Audio take to complete?

The Fast Track option allows you to complete your Bachelor of Audio faster by studying units across 2 years (6 trimesters), compared to the standard 8 trimesters (2.5 years) or 9 trimesters (3 years) options.

What are the fees for the Bachelor of Audio?

For domestic students, the course consists of 16 units at $2,999 each and 4 units at $5,998 each, with an Annual Course Fee (Indicative) of $23,992 AUD (based on 1.0 EFTSL), plus the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). FEE-HELP is available for eligible domestic students. For international students, fees are 16 units at $3,495 and 4 units at $6,990, with an Annual Course Fee (Indicative) of $27,960 AUD, plus SSAF.

The Bachelor of Audio is available at SAE campuses in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, with intake dates available in May 2026, September 2026, and February 2027 at all locations.

What delivery options are available for the Bachelor of Audio?

The Bachelor of Audio is offered On Campus or in a Blended delivery mode. On Campus includes 2 hours of weekly on-campus classes plus 1 hour of national content (online or asynchronous), with classes running Monday to Friday. Blended delivery combines 2 hours of live (on-campus or online) classes with 1 hour of national content each week, balancing in-person connection with the convenience of remote access.

Is part-time study available for the Bachelor of Audio?

Yes, a part-time option is available for domestic students who want to take a little longer to complete the course. SAE will help you work out the best study load to suit your needs, and you'll have the flexibility to change your study load throughout your course if needed. Please note that part-time study is not available for international students.
