About This Course

The Bachelor of Aviation covers the aviation industry beyond the cockpit — regulations, aircraft, staff and safety — with two majors to choose between: Management and Pilot.
The Management major prepares you to coordinate pilots, cabin crew, air traffic controllers and security personnel so flights run smoothly and efficiently. The Pilot major is a flight training pathway toward professional pilot qualifications, delivered in partnership with Flight Training Adelaide.
Both majors share a common first year introducing flight operations, management and safety, aviation law and its application in Australia and abroad, and the relationship between human physiology, psychology and the aviation environment, including the limitations of the human body.
Tailored subjects span aviation management, aviation law, human performance in aviation, flight training theory, commercial pilot theory, navigation and aircraft systems theory, advanced pilot theory, aviation physics, and airline operations management.
During first year you can also apply for the Graduate Diploma in Aviation, studied in parallel with the bachelor program.
The program totals 144 units — 66 units of core courses, 48 units for one major, 12 units of work integrated learning and 18 units of electives — over three years at the Mawson Lakes Campus, with February and July intakes.

• Vocational Education and Training (VET) — Completion of an award from a registered training organisation (RTO) at Certificate IV (AQF level 4) or higher.

• Work and life experience — Completion of an Adelaide University approved enabling, pathway or bridging program; OR A competitive result in the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT); OR Qualify for special entry
