Common Questions
Upon completing the Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting, graduates receive a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), a Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating (MECIR), either a Multi-Crew Cooperation and Jet Orientation Course (MCC/JOC) or a Flight Instructor Rating (FIR), and Air Transport Pilot License theory subjects (frozen ATPL). The course meets Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) licensing requirements in Australia.
Flight training takes place at CAE Melbourne Flight Training at Moorabbin. Students will be in the air from week three of the course, flying regularly with access to CAE's large, modern fleet and advanced simulators. Aircraft is serviced in-house, meaning less downtime and more flying time.
The total indicative fee for international students in 2026, inclusive of both tuition and flying training fees, is estimated at AUD $231,250 to AUD $250,320. Fees are subject to annual review and may vary depending on actual study load each semester.
No, the Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting is only available for international students. Domestic students (Australian or New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents) are not eligible to enrol in this course.
Prior to selection, all shortlisted candidates are required to complete a skills assessment test facilitated by CAE Australia Flight Training. It is a computer-based pilot aptitude test that covers pilot aptitude, hand–eye coordination, motor skills and spatial awareness, and is designed to determine a candidate's understanding of a career as a professional pilot and their suitability for an intensive professional flight training program. Applicants will be provided with test booking information in their Conditional Offer Letter once they meet all other course entry requirements. A non-refundable fee is payable prior to taking the test.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
