Yes. In their final year of study, students are required to complete a minimum of 100 hours of unpaid work placement OR unpaid project work in HST3505 Project in Medical and Health Sciences through enrolment in MMS3500 Professional Practice in Biomedical Science. Students may undertake a range of supervised activities in clinical, laboratory, professional or simulated settings.
For domestic students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $8,950 (Commonwealth supported). For international students, the estimated first year indicative fee is AUD $41,750.
Yes. Mandatory risk and health requirements must be met. Students may be required to submit a first aid certificate, a National Police Clearance, Working with Children Card, immunisation records and other certifications. The costs of clearances are borne by the student. A placement host may also have vaccination requirements, including vaccination against Covid-19 unless you have a medical exemption.
Yes. ECU offers a unique dual degree in partnership with the University of Portsmouth (UK), allowing students to study Biomedical Science in Perth and in the UK, obtaining two qualifications in only 4 years full-time along with an international study experience.
