Common Questions
Yes. VU offers credit, also known as advanced standing, to recognise prior learning or work and life experience. This can reduce the number of units you need to complete in your course, saving you time and money. You can apply for credit during the course application process or after you have been accepted, during enrolment.
Students must be prepared to declare their health and immunisation status prior to undertaking clinical practice and placements. Additionally, applicants may be required to hold a valid National Police Record Check for professional placements as part of the course.
At Victoria University, students study subjects one at a time in four-week 'blocks' through the award-winning VU Block Model®. This means there are five opportunities across the year to start your course, allowing for a more focused and learner-centred study experience.
Yes. Domestic students in undergraduate courses such as bachelor degrees can defer studying for up to 12 months for work, travel or personal reasons, as long as they apply for deferral before enrolling. You can apply for a deferral when accepting your offer to study via the MyVU system.
VU offers up to 20 adjustment points towards any one course. These can come from completing specified Year 12 subjects, VTAC Special Entry Scheme (SEAS) equity considerations, the Elite Sport & Performer Program (5 points for eligible current Year 12 students), and Moondani Balluk consideration for Indigenous students, who receive at least 5 ATAR adjustment points.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
