Common Questions
Students can choose from four specialisations: Medical Science, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Science, or Health. You may select all specialist electives from a single specialisation or combine units from multiple specialisations to align with your specific interests and career goals.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 240 credit points, comprising 120 credit points of compulsory core units (12 units), 80 credit points of specialist elective units (8 units), and 40 credit points of general elective units (4 units). No more than 100 credit points at 100 level may be completed, and a minimum of 60 credit points at 300 level must be completed.
The annual tuition fee for full-time international students in 2026 is AUD $36,480.00, which equates to $4,560.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL). These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year.
Students will gain perspectives on professional practice in biomedical science through problem-based and project-based learning, and insights from industry and research professionals through guest lectures and laboratory visits. Students may also choose specialist elective units that include laboratory-based practical classes which will give them the skills and experience needed to confidently perform a variety of key routine techniques used in biomedical science laboratories.
Yes, the Bachelor of Biomedical Science is available as either a 3-year full-time or 6-year part-time program. Credit transfer arrangements are available to students commencing a bachelor degree at CDU with completed Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree qualifications in the same field or discipline, subject to meeting criteria. Information about advanced standing and credit transfer pathways is available through CDU's ASK CDU service.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
