The combined degree takes 4 years (12 semesters) to complete. With Bond's three-semester-per-year timetable, students can complete both the Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Bachelor of Laws in just four years and launch their career sooner.
Students can choose one of two majors: Pre-Health/Professional, or Laboratory/Research. The Pre-Health/Professional major includes the subject Health Communication and provides a choice of two discipline elective subjects from the fields of nutrition, exercise and sports science, psychology, and health innovation. The Laboratory/Research major includes training in advanced bioscience lab and molecular diagnostic techniques, plus the opportunity to undertake a two-semester individual research project.
Yes, the Bachelor of Laws is recognised for admission to legal practice in Australia. If students are interested in practising law, Bond also offers the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (GDLP), which is the pathway to admission as a legal professional.
In the first year, students will complete three core university subjects providing essential skills in critical thinking, communication, leadership and more. Within the first two years, students will complete foundational law subjects as well as seven foundational Biomedical Science subjects in areas of cell biology, anatomy, and physiology.
Students may gain valuable practical experience through internships and work placements. The program provides access to state-of-the-art facilities including research and science laboratories and the Legal Skills Centre. Students also have the opportunity to participate in Bond's outstanding mooting program to develop advocacy skills and gain practical legal experience while studying.
