Bachelor of Biomedicine and Health

The Bachelor of Biomedicine and Health is an undergraduate coursework degree that will enable you to develop integrated knowledge and skills in biomedicine and health, and to build capabilities that are essential for future success as a health professional. You will undertake your studies at the University of Sydney's Westmead campus within the Westmead Health Precinct, co-located with two major teaching hospitals as well as the largest pathology service in NSW, and a broad range of organisations serving the health needs of Western Sydney communities. Throughout your studies you will have opportunities to learn from experts and health professionals, and to gain experience in real health settings. You will study core units to gain a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and physiology, diseases and their treatments, as well as approaches to public health, health care and the health care system. In your second and third year of study you will have opportunities to delve deeper into areas of health and biomedicine, including cutting-edge treatments like gene therapy and cancer immunotherapy. There will also be opportunities to undertake work placements and projects that build your experience and networks in the health sector.
