You will undertake your studies at the University of Sydney's Westmead campus within the Westmead Health Precinct, which is co-located with two major teaching hospitals, the largest pathology service in NSW, and a broad range of organisations serving the health needs of Western Sydney communities.
You will study core units covering human anatomy and physiology, diseases and their treatments, and approaches to public health, health care and the health care system. In your second and third year, you will have opportunities to delve deeper into areas including cutting-edge treatments like gene therapy and cancer immunotherapy.
Yes, throughout your studies you will have opportunities to learn from experts and health professionals, and to gain experience in real health settings. There will also be opportunities to undertake work placements and projects that build your experience and networks in the health sector.
The closing date for Semester 1 applications is 31 January of the commencing year. Note that separate deadlines apply for scholarship applications.
