About This Course

ACU's new Bachelor of Business is future-focused and co-designed with industry, offering the flexibility to tailor the degree to your interests and career goals. Majors and minors on offer include accounting, finance, marketing, data analytics, human resources, information systems, managing healthcare organisations, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and sustainability. In class you take part in interactive workshops and gamified business simulations based on real-world situations, and artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, cloud skills and cloud data services are wired into your studies.

ACU is a member of PRME, so all units are embedded with the United Nations sustainable goals, and an intercultural communication module builds the cultural awareness and communication skills that are vital in the global workplace. Students can extend that intercultural experience by taking part in a Global Virtual Classroom, studying at ACU's Rome Campus or joining an international study tour.

The degree requires 240 credit points: 60 credit points of specified business units, 20 credit points of Core Curriculum units, an 80 credit point major, and a further 80 credit points made up of a second major, minors or electives. Embedded in the degree are 35 hours of community engagement with a not-for-profit organisation and 105 hours of professional placement with an organisation related to your main area of study. The Bachelor of Business is AACSB-accredited, placing the Peter Faber Business School among the top six per cent of business schools worldwide, and it is already accredited with the Australian Marketing Institute and the Australian HR Institute. The Future Ready employability program builds professional identity, experience, job-ready skills and networks each year.

General Requirements

Domestic students

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12, or equivalent:
- New South Wales: Assumed knowledge: English (Advanced or Standard) (Band 2) or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) (Band 3).
- Queensland: Assumed knowledge: English (3 & 4, C).
- Victoria: Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 25 in any other English.
Indicative ATAR: 60.00 (Melbourne), 60.00 (North Sydney)
Applicants with higher education study must still meet the minimum entry requirements and subject prerequisites. Applicants who have completed at least two units of AQF-recognised study at bachelor level or above are assigned a new selection rank reflecting their study level, duration and grade point average, and prior study or relevant work experience may attract credit or recognition of prior learning.
ACU also assesses applicants on recent secondary education, prior VET study, and work and life experience.

International students

International applicants need the equivalent of an Australian Year 12 Certificate and must comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy, including the English Language Proficiency requirements. The year 12 subject prerequisites listed for domestic applicants also apply.
International students completing an Australian Year 12 qualification (either outside or in Australia), an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, or a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 must apply for admission through their local Tertiary Admission Centre (TAC) and are assessed on their performance in those studies (that is, their ATAR or equivalent).
