Common Questions
The Bachelor of Business offers two majors: Accounting and Management. You will be able to nominate your major before the end of your first year. The Accounting major comprises 9 units (including prescribed units to meet professional accreditation standards), while the Management major comprises 8 units with a range of units from which you can choose.
Undertaking a major in Accounting provides a strong practical and theoretical grounding in the competencies required to pursue a professional accounting qualification with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), CPA Australia (CPA), Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
The Bachelor of Business is delivered face-to-face through lectures, tutorials and seminars at the Perth CBD campus (Suite 18, 7 Aberdeen St Perth). Sheridan does not offer a fully online study option for remote students. However, the degree can be completed part-time; students are regarded as part-time when they take less than twenty-four (24) credit points per year, which may extend the program to four or more years.
Yes. The Diploma of Business (DipBus) is a 1-year undergraduate pathway award into the Sheridan Bachelor of Business. Students graduating with a Diploma of Business at Sheridan Institute of Higher Education will receive 24 credits towards the Sheridan Bachelor of Business. There are also credit pathways from the DipBus into undergraduate programs at Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Alphacrucis University College and Christian Heritage College.
Full-time students take 4 units per semester, requiring 12 contact hours per week. A single Bachelor of Business unit represents 150 hours of study over a semester, including class contact hours and private study. The 150 hours typically consists of seminars for 36 hours (3 hours per week over 12 teaching weeks) and private study for 114 hours (7 hours per week over 12 teaching weeks plus 10 hours per week over 3 non-teaching weeks).

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
