Holmesglen's Bachelor of Business (Accounting) prepares you for a successful career in accounting, finance and business management. This nationally recognised accounting degree combines practical, job-ready skills with real-world industry learning. Based at Holmesglen's Chadstone campus, studying at Holmesglen provides a practical learning experience that prepares you for professional accounting and business environments. Throughout the course, you'll develop accounting knowledge and technical skills while learning in a supportive environment. Students have access to computer laboratories, wireless campus networks, library services and digital learning resources that support accounting, business and collaborative learning activities. Digital course delivery is supported through Holmesglen's Brightspace learning management system, providing access to lecture and tutorial materials, assessments, readings, discussion forums, e-portfolios and collaborative learning activities. Students also use Webex to support teamwork, virtual meetings, communication and digital literacy development relevant to modern business workplaces.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Domestic Students:

Recent Secondary Education (within the past two years): eligibility based on completion of VCE (or equivalent) within the current year or the previous two years. Prior study in Accounting, Economics, Legal Studies, and Mathematics is recommended but not mandatory.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) Study: applicants who have completed an Australian VET Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline will be considered for entry. Applicants who have completed the Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping and Diploma of Accounting at Holmesglen may be eligible for advanced standing with credit, assessed case-by-case.
Higher Education Study: applicants who have previously commenced or completed subjects within a higher education course may apply for advanced standing, assessed individually with credit granted where equivalency can be demonstrated.
Work and Life Experience: applicants with relevant work and life experience who completed secondary education more than two years prior, and have not undertaken VET or higher education study since, are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience may include a minimum of five years' work experience in the accounting industry or a related occupation, or the capacity to successfully undertake higher education.
All pathways require a literacy and numeracy assessment, an interview, and certified copies of relevant qualifications prior to enrolment.

International Students:

Must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the course.
English language proficiency: IELTS overall score of 6.0 (Academic) or equivalent.
Academic requirements: successful completion of VCE Year 12 or overseas equivalent, or completion of an Australian VET Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or partial/completed higher education study at a recognised university or non-university higher education provider.
Applicants who have completed the Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping and Diploma of Accounting at Holmesglen may be eligible for credit towards the first year of the degree.
