Common Questions
Yes. The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree is accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and CPA Australia, and is recognised by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Subject to completion of the required subjects, graduates meet the academic entry requirements for the CA ANZ and CPA Australia professional programs and may be eligible to apply for associate-level membership. Recognition by ACCA means graduates may be eligible for exemptions from selected ACCA examinations.
Built into the qualification are two Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subjects, completed over two trimesters, providing a minimum of 600 hours of industry training. In the study period prior to your first WIL subject, ICMS works closely with students to secure a suitable placement that is the best fit for their skills, interests and professional goals. Placements can take place anywhere in Australia, or internationally.
The degree comprises 26 subjects in total: 12 core business subjects, 6 specialisation subjects, 6 elective subjects, and 2 WIL (Work Integrated Learning) subjects. The degree focuses on interrelated business areas of the accounting profession, differentiating it from other accounting courses, and provides flexibility and choice in your career.
The standard duration of the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) is 3 years (or part-time equivalent). An accelerated option is also available with a duration of 2.3 years. Intakes are available in February, May, and August, with mid-term intakes in March, June, October, and December when offered.
The degree offers opportunities to pursue a career in any business sector. Specific career options include Financial Accountant, Tax Accountant, Auditor, Business Analyst, Financial Advisor, Forensic Accountant, Investment Manager, Finance Manager, Management Accountant, and Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Students can also tailor their degree by choosing electives that suit their desired accounting career pathway.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
