Bachelor of Business (Analytics)

The Bachelor of Business (Analytics) is AAPoly's bachelor's degree in data analytics with a business focus. The course equips students with the skills and techniques required to develop, implement and manage analytics projects in a wide range of enterprises. Students learn to manage multidisciplinary, data-driven analytics solutions and to develop approaches to understand evolving trends in business solutions grounded in data science, so that analytical work is always tied back to a commercial decision rather than treated as a purely technical exercise. The structure combines a Business Core, a compulsory Analytics Major and a broad elective pool across three years. First year covers technology and innovation, computational science, statistics and decision making, and introduction to management, with electives spanning accounting, cybercrime, human resource management, marketing, business law, digital and social media marketing, economics, programming fundamentals, systems design and engineering, operating systems and web technologies. Second year covers fundamentals of analytics, communication for business professionals, database foundations and cyber security principles, with a wide elective pool including finance, cyber law and risk, negotiation, digital marketing channels, project management, object-oriented programming, networking fundamentals and blockchain technology. Third year covers professional development for emerging leaders, two applied business challenge subjects, business analytics, data warehousing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, data visualisation, and forecasting and prediction. Graduates typically work for commercial and government organisations across tourism, finance, health, retail, and IT and analytics consulting, both nationally and internationally.
