About This Course

Bachelor of Business Analytics and Analysis — a double degree offering two majors: Business Analysis and Business Analytics. Business Analysis helps you learn how to speak and interpret both business and tech languages, honing your strategic thinking to identify business operational challenges and how data can predict opportunities and create solutions. Business Analytics draws evidence from data to spot and forecast trends to help businesses make the best strategic decisions, understanding how data can explain customer behaviour, measure business performance and more.

Requirements

Successful completion of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or its equivalent, such as an interstate or international Year 12 qualification
Completion or partial completion of an approved tertiary qualification (including certificates IV (completed), diplomas, advanced diplomas, associate degrees and degrees)
Applicants without a formal qualification may be considered for entry upon completion of the Special Tertiary Admissions Test
Applicants without a formal qualification but with significant and relevant work experience will be considered if they can demonstrate that they can undertake the course with a reasonable prospect of success
Guaranteed Entry ATAR: 60.0
Course Prerequisites: VCE Units 3 and 4: a minimum study score of 25 in any English (except EAL) or 30 in English as Alternate Language (EAL) or equivalent
Subject Adjustments: A study score of 25 in any Business, any Information Technology or any Mathematics equals 2 aggregate points per study; a study score of 30 in any Business, any Information Technology or any Mathematics equals 3 aggregate points per study; overall maximum of 10 points
English Language Requirements (International): IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0; or Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 65%, all skills 65% or above; or equivalent measures
Credit transfer is granted in recognition of previous study and/or experience and allows students to gain advanced standing towards their course; applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows students to gain credit (advanced standing) towards their course in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training; applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis

Are there any subject adjustments that can boost my ATAR for this course?

A study score of 25 in any Business, any Information Technology or any Mathematics equals 2 aggregate points per study, and a study score of 30 in any of those subjects equals 3 aggregate points per study. The overall maximum is 10 points. Note that subject adjustment points are applied to the aggregate, not the ATAR.

What are the English language requirements for international students?

International students must satisfy one of the following: an IELTS overall band of 6.0 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0, or Swinburne's English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with an overall score of 65% and all skills at 65% or above, or equivalent measures as listed on Swinburne's English language requirements page.

Can I receive credit for previous study or work experience when enrolling in this course?

Yes. Credit transfer is granted in recognition of previous study and/or experience and allows students to gain advanced standing towards their course. Additionally, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows students to gain credit towards their course in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. Both are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Students admitted with prior tertiary studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements may also be eligible for academic credit.
