About This Course

These qualities are valued by businesses that not only aim for growth and financial success, but also endeavour to make positive societal impact and lead with purpose. The Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Arts develops these qualities, combining business skills with a focus on human cultures, creative and critical thinking, and communication. You will choose an Arts major in Humanities, Creative Writing or Social Sciences, backed by either core Business units covering foundational knowledge such as business law, economics, finance, and marketing or you may elect to specialise in Accounting. This double degree is a pathway to multiple career options, from journalism to policy development, product management to design, public relations to accounting and finance, and beyond.

English Language Requirements (IELTS): Overall score of 6.0
IELTS Listening: minimum 5.5
IELTS Reading: minimum 5.5
IELTS Speaking: minimum 5.5
IELTS Writing: minimum 5.5
English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English
Students must complete the equivalent of 32 units (384 credit points) comprising: 22 Core Business units or Accounting Specialisation (264 credit points), AND 1 Arts major (96 credit points) and 2 Arts Option units (24 credit points)
Inherent Requirements: None
Alternative pathways available including SCU College Diplomas and fee-free academic preparation programs
Credit for Prior Learning (Advanced Standing / RPL) may be available based on prior study or experience
Early Offer available for Year 12 students

Students choose one of the following Arts majors: Humanities, Creative Writing, or Social Sciences. Additionally, students can choose an optional Business specialisation in Accounting.

What is the Southern Cross Model and how does it affect my studies?

The Southern Cross Model features shorter, six-week unit structures designed around immersive and interactive learning experiences. Lectures are replaced with active, interactive and discussion-based learning. Online students may engage with podcast or video-linked lectures, electronic study materials, workshops, online discussion forums and virtual classes. The method of teaching and assessment may vary from unit to unit.
