Common Questions
Yes, the Law component of the Bachelor of Business – Bachelor of Laws at JCU is an approved qualification for admission to practise law in Queensland. Further information on admission to practise is available from the Queensland Legal Practitioners Admissions Board, and Boards in other States.
You can choose from four majors within the Bachelor of Business degree: Human Resources Management, International Business, Management, and Marketing for the Digital Age. You can choose to study one major, add a second major, or a combination of one major with up to two minors. Not all majors are available at all campuses.
The Bachelor of Business – Bachelor of Laws is available at JCU's Townsville and Cairns campuses, as well as online. Students can commence in January, May, or September at all three locations.
Students gain practical experience through real-world case scenarios, internships, and mock trials in 'moot' e-court facilities. Law classes and workshops involve judges and senior academics along with local law firms, government agencies, community organisations and the local bar. The business program also provides real-world experiences and is designed with input from leading industry professionals.
JCU offers small class sizes and Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS), which pair students with peers from the same course to revise difficult material, consider different perspectives, and discuss ideas together. Students can also sign up for self-study workshops covering effective note taking, studying for exams, and writing assignments, as well as support in maths, statistics, and academic reading and writing.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
