Bachelor of Business (Cyber Security)

The Bachelor of Business (Cyber Security) is AAPoly's newest degree and Australia's first Bachelor degree in Cyber Security with a business focus. The course was designed to give students a broad business education alongside a significant amount of specialised cyber security training in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC). Students are trained in the fundamentals of business as well as specialised GRC training, providing a solid foundation for broader roles within the cyber security business. Through the program students acquire high-level, career and work-ready skills in business economics, consumer behaviour, digital business communication, problem solving, negotiations, team building, organisational analytics and coherent strategic thinking in current and emerging cyber security practices within the enterprise. The degree equips students with the skills and techniques required to align business risks with information security standards and governance frameworks, and to manage multidisciplinary technological solutions to continually evolving cyber security threats and attacks. The structure combines a Business Core, a compulsory Cyber Security Major and electives across three years: first year covers introduction to cybercrime, technology and innovation, business law and introduction to management; second year covers business communication plus cyber security principles, cyber law, privacy and ethics, and cyber risk management; third year covers cyber incident response, cyber security governance, cyber security program development, digital forensics and the law, professional development for emerging leaders, two applied business challenge subjects and business analytics. The degree is offered at the Sydney and Melbourne campuses.
