Domestic students can apply either through VTAC or directly to RMIT. RMIT recommends familiarising yourself with VTAC course information before submitting a VTAC application. You can also apply direct to RMIT via their online application process. For step-by-step guidance, RMIT provides how-to-apply guides on their Applying to RMIT page.
International students should apply via RMIT's Application Portal, or through VTAC if they have completed an Australian Year 12 or an International Baccalaureate in Australia or New Zealand. Before applying, check the entry requirements on the course page (including academic prerequisites and English language requirements), prepare required documents such as academic transcripts, graduation certificates, and evidence of English language proficiency, then submit your application. You are advised to apply and accept your offer at least 4–8 weeks before your course start date to allow for visa processing.
Based on the semester options available on the RMIT enquiry form, upcoming intakes include Semester 2, 2026; Semester 1, 2027; Semester 2, 2027; Semester 1, 2028; and beyond. RMIT also offers a select number of courses for a Semester 3 intake to international students. It is recommended to check the specific course page for confirmed intake dates for this program.
Yes. RMIT offers several alternative entry options including Guaranteed ATARs, Packaged Pathways, equity access schemes for students from diverse backgrounds, and credit or recognition of prior learning for relevant previous study. These pathways can help eligible students gain entry to the program or reduce their study duration.
Yes. Once enrolled, you can apply for credit and recognition of prior learning, which may count towards your RMIT program and potentially reduce the duration of your qualification. International students should also be aware that credit for previous study may be recognised prior to enrolment and could reduce the length of their studies.
RMIT provides a dedicated Study@RMIT team available via live chat (Monday–Thursday 9am–5pm, Friday 10am–5pm AEST, excluding public holidays). International students can also contact RMIT's international advisors to confirm entry requirements, required documents, and the application process. Additionally, RMIT-authorised agents can assist international applicants with their submissions. An Open Day is held in August each year where prospective students can experience hands-on learning and get information about programs.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
