Common Questions
Yes, the Business Information Systems major in the Bachelor of Business is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS), which is the official accrediting body for the IT sector in Australia. ACS-accredited tertiary courses and study programs provide assured quality education for students with ambitions of a tech career.
You will gain hands-on experience through work-integrated learning, industry placements, and live projects. Students will collaborate with industry and business partners on real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience and networking opportunities across fields including systems analysis and design, database administration, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, data analytics, and digital business design.
The Business Information Systems major does not accommodate a second major due to the course structure, but you can pursue a second minor. Suggested complementary minors include Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Economics, and Finance.
Graduates can pursue roles such as business systems analyst, project manager, IT manager, or data analyst. Entry-level positions like business systems analysts may start around AU$70,000 a year, while senior roles such as IT managers or data analytics experts can see salaries exceeding AU$120,000, depending on experience and industry.
For international students, the annual tuition fee is AU$45,120 (2026 annual). The course is offered on campus at Melbourne City with intakes in February, July, and October, and is completed full-time in 3 years.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
