Foundations of Information Technology
Introduces students to information technology covering Internet, computer hardware, operating systems, software tools, networking, database technology, and current ICT trends relevant to 21st century business.
Accounting for Business Decisions

Contemporary Management: Issues and Challenges

Practical Industry Projects - PIP (Part A)
Capstone project in partnership with Practera integrating classroom knowledge into practical industry experience, solving real-world business challenges for industry clients in groups of up to six. Pre-requisite: Completion of 160 course credit points including BISY2004.

The Bachelor of Business Information Systems has eight intake periods per year: February, March, May, June, August, September, October, and November. For 2026, Semester 1 Block 4 classes commence on 1 June 2026, with enrolment closing on 1 June 2026 and the census date on 8 June 2026.
To complete the degree, students must pass 24 units worth a total of 240 credit points (10 credit points per unit). The course is divided into three levels: Level 1000 (8 core units), Level 2000 (6 core units plus 2 electives), and Level 3000 (6 core units plus 2 electives). There are also nested exit awards: the Diploma of Business Information Systems (1 year full-time, 8 Level 1000 units) and the Associate Degree of Business Information Systems (2 years full-time, completing Level 1000 and Level 2000 units).
Graduates of the Bachelor of Business Information Systems can pursue careers as Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Information Systems Designer, or IT Manager. The qualification also meets the academic entry requirements for admission to Postgraduate courses within Australia and overseas, subject to institution-specific requirements.
Yes. In the final year, students complete a two-part Practical Industry Projects (PIP) capstone unit (BISY3008a and BISY3008b), delivered in partnership with Practera. Students work in groups of up to six on real-world business challenges for industry clients, guided by a client mentor and lecturer. Upon completion, students receive a certification and digital badge. To enrol in BISY3008a, students must have completed 160 course credit points including BISY2004 (Project Management).
