Bachelor of Business (Leadership and Management)

Business leaders need to know how to anticipate, formulate, resolve and communicate high-level strategies within an organisation, and the Bachelor of Business (Leadership and Management) at Academies Australasia Polytechnic prepares students for specific managerial responsibilities. Students are exposed throughout the course to contemporary industry practices and have the opportunity to engage with industry professionals, studying the theories, principles, processes and practices of strategic management, change management, business ethics and organisational analysis. The degree aims to equip students with high-level, career and work-ready skills in communication, problem solving, negotiation, team building, organisational analysis and strategic thinking, preparing them for careers in the management of large, medium and small organisations in both the private and government sectors, domestically and internationally. First year core subjects cover communication for business professionals, economics for business, technology and innovation, integrated business and legal perspectives, introduction to management and foundations of HR management. Second year covers Enterprise U, negotiation in the business environment, organising people at work, principles of responsible management and project management. Third year covers two applied business challenge subjects, change management, leadership and engagement, and strategic thinking for competitive advantage. The degree is offered at the Sydney and Melbourne campuses over six semesters.
