The institution does not tolerate any behaviour that is intimidating, abusive, disrespectful, or threatening, including sexual harassment, sexual assault or rape. Students found in breach of the Student Academic and Non-academic Procedure may face consequences including fines, suspension and expulsion. Staff or affiliates may face disciplinary action or termination of employment.
Yes. The institution is bound under the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW) to make a report to the Police in many cases of serious offences, including sexual assault.
Consent means a free, voluntary and informed agreement between people to participate in a sexual act. The five core concepts of consent are: free and voluntary; specific and informed; affirmative and communicated; ongoing and mutual; and reflects capacity. Consent cannot be given by any person under the age of 16 years in most Australian states, or under 17 years in South Australia and Tasmania.
