You can choose one major from the Bachelor of Business, including business and digital communications, entrepreneurship and innovation, event management, organisational psychology, people management, project management, recruitment and talent acquisition, retail and supply chain management, and sustainability and development. You can also choose one major from over 30 Bachelor of Arts options, including visual arts and photography, public relations, social media, visual communication design, criminology, international relations, and many more.
Deakin's work integrated learning (WIL) opportunities prepare you for industry by applying your skills in real-world settings. Practical learning opportunities include industry placements, mentoring, volunteering, consulting, internships, student clubs and societies, and local and international business competitions. You can also enhance your global employability by gaining international experience across Asia, Europe or North America through overseas internships and study tours.
The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Arts is available at Burwood (Melbourne), Waterfront (Geelong), and Online. Trimester 1 (March) and Trimester 2 (July) are available at all three locations, while Trimester 3 (November) is available at Burwood (Melbourne) and Online only. Note that students at the Geelong Waterfront Campus will need to travel between campuses, as the Bachelor of Business will be taught at Waterfront and the Bachelor of Arts at Waurn Ponds Campus.
To complete the Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Arts, you must pass 32 credit points in total: 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Business (8 credit points of core units and 1 major of 8 credit points) and 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Arts (1 major of 8 credit points, a minimum of 4 credit points at level 3 of arts coded units, with remaining credit points used for an Employability sequence or elective units). As a full-time student you will study four credit points per trimester and usually undertake two trimesters per year.
The minimum unadjusted ATAR for entry is 50. The lowest selection rank (including adjustment factors) was 61.30 at Burwood (Melbourne) and 65.45 at Waterfront (Geelong) based on 2026 offers. Eligible students may gain guaranteed admission at a lower ATAR: 51 for Burwood and Online, and 55 for Waterfront. You also need a study score of at least 25 in English EAL or at least 20 in English other than EAL. Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
