This program is specifically designed for high achieving law students in the Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws program who wish to undertake an extended level of study and research in Law, resulting in an Honours designation upon graduation.
Yes, the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program satisfies the academic degree requirements for admission to practice as an Australian lawyer.
You can choose from the following majors: Accounting, Applied Finance, Economics, and Property. Each major leads to different career pathways, and some are professionally accredited — for example, the Accounting major is accredited with CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), while the Property major is accredited by the Australian Property Institute (API).
The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is offered at Parramatta South and Campbelltown campuses of Western Sydney University. Students also gain practical skills in moot court at both of these campuses.
Students will develop skills in legal advocacy, negotiation, legal drafting, and legal research. They will also have the opportunity to extend their professional and learning experiences through work integrated learning, clinical placement, and international exchange engagements, as well as engage with legal technology.
