The Bachelor of Commerce offers seven majors: Accounting, Actuarial Studies, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing. You can choose your major in your first or second year, and you can even complete a double major by combining any two majors within the standard 300 credit points of the degree at no extra time. Note that Accounting and Actuarial Studies majors require you to start subjects from those majors in your first year due to accreditation requirements.
Yes, Honours is available as an additional (fourth) year of specialised study. It is offered in one of the following disciplines: Accounting, Actuarial Studies, Economics, or Finance. Honours allows you to develop new research, analytical, and professional skills to enhance your employability.
The Guaranteed ATAR for 2026 entry is 92.00, and the lowest selection rank for 2025 (as a guide only) was also 92.00. The Access Melbourne entry scheme is available for eligible students who may not meet the standard selection rank.
Students can gain practical experience through strong industry connections with leading firms and organisations via consulting subjects, student clubs, case competitions, and exclusive programs. Additionally, students have access to career services and networks that prepare them for graduate roles, as well as an engaged alumni community.
From 2026, students can deepen their knowledge by focusing 25 credit points of their level 3 elective study toward a specialisation within their major, allowing for a more targeted area of expertise within the chosen major.
