Bachelor of Commerce

The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) is an undergraduate degree of Australian Catholic University, set out in the ACU Handbook for 2026. ACU publishes no separate course overview for the award, so the handbook's completion requirements are the fullest account of what students study. The degree carries 240 credit points and has a minimum duration of three years full-time or the equivalent part-time. The approved locations recorded in the handbook are Blacktown, Brisbane, Melbourne, North Sydney and Strathfield, together with ACU's 'Other' delivery category, and the handbook notes the course is not offered at Blacktown, Strathfield or Brisbane in 2026. To qualify, a student completes 60 credit points of specified business units, 20 credit points from ACU's Core Curriculum, 80 credit points in a single major, and a further 80 credit points made up of any combination of a second major, one or two minors, or elective units, of which no more than 40 credit points of electives may be taken from outside the Faculty of Law and Business. At least one elective unit must be taken at 300 level. The handbook lists six specified business units: Financial Literacy, Marketing Essentials, Managing People and Organisations, Information Technology in Action, Community Engagement: Building Strengths and Capabilities and Professional Experience. Students are required to complete the business foundation units, which the handbook identifies as Financial Literacy, Marketing Essentials, Managing People and Organisations and Information Technology in Action or their equivalents, in their first semester before progressing to level 2 units, although those who have completed at least two of them may progress with the permission of the Course Adviser.
