Yes, this program is accredited by Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) Australia and the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). The program satisfies the academic requirements for direct entry into the CPA Australia program, and students/graduates are eligible to enrol in the CPA Australia Network and the CA program respectively.
Through the Bachelor of Commerce, you have the opportunity to complete a major in one of the following areas: Cyber Security Law and Governance, Enterprise AI and Business Analytics, International Business, Marketing Technology, or Quantitative Economics and Finance.
In Year 1, you will gain foundational knowledge in areas such as AI, marketing, economics, leadership, international business, digital business, accounting and business law. In Year 2, you'll deepen your knowledge in accounting, law, finance, commerce and economics. In Year 3, you'll complete two accounting subjects, two commerce subjects, and four subjects in your chosen commerce major. In Year 4, you'll study auditing and strategic accounting and leadership, with options to undertake internship programs and complete your commerce major.
The Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Commerce is predominantly taught face-to-face at RMIT's Melbourne City campus and also offers some online learning. Teaching methods include classroom sessions with presentations, discussions, and guest lectures; flexible delivery methods incorporating online resources such as recordings, podcasts, and discussion boards; problem-based learning with real-world business simulations; cooperative learning; research-based and problem-oriented assignments and projects; and creation of an e-portfolio.
