The Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) is a double degree that can be completed in five years with full-time study. You'll complete 240 units of credit (UOC) through a combination of core courses, majors and electives — 96 UOC from Commerce and 144 UOC from Advanced Science (Honours).
In the Bachelor of Commerce component, you can choose from 15 majors including Accounting, AI in Business and Society, Behavioural Economics, Business Analytics, Finance, FinTech, Marketing, Taxation and more. In the Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) component, you can choose from 25 majors including Advanced Physics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Marine and Coastal Science, and others.
For domestic students, the 2026 Lowest Selection Rank (ATAR plus adjustment factors) is 97.0, and the 2026 Lowest ATAR (before adjustment factors) is 77.0. The IB Diploma requirement is 41.0 and the A levels score is 17.0. Assumed knowledge includes Mathematics Advanced or Mathematics Extension 1, plus one or more of Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, or Physics.
The degree includes Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and Research Integrated Learning (RIL) opportunities. On the Commerce side, students can leverage UNSW Business School's industry partners to gain first-hand experience with start-ups, government departments or large biomedical and biotechnology companies. In Advanced Science (Honours), students engage with authentic scientific research from year one and complete two undergraduate research skills courses as a core component of their degree.
Entry into the Honours program in Science is subject to academic performance and progression requirements. Students may exit the Advanced Science (Honours) program with a Bachelor of Science award if they are unsuccessful in applying for entry into Honours.
