Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Laws

The Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws (BCom/LLB) is a double degree offered by Australian Catholic University with a minimum duration of five years full-time or the equivalent part-time. It totals 400 credit points and is approved for delivery at ACU's Blacktown, Brisbane, Melbourne and North Sydney campuses, although the handbook records that it is not offered at Blacktown or Brisbane in 2026.

Of the 400 credit points, 160 are taken in accordance with the requirements of the Bachelor of Commerce: 140 credit points of Bachelor of Commerce units and 20 credit points from ACU's Core Curriculum. The commerce component builds from foundation units in financial literacy, marketing essentials, managing people and organisations, information technology and introductory business law, and the schedule of unit offerings records majors including Accounting, Data Analytics, Human Resource Management, Management and Marketing. Community engagement and professional experience units also sit within this part of the course.

The remaining 240 credit points make up the Bachelor of Laws: 180 credit points of specified law units, 50 credit points chosen from a list of more than sixty law elective units, and a 10 credit point Community Legal Engagement: Pro Bono unit. To qualify for the degree a student must also complete at least 80 hours of zero credit point pro bono placement after completing LAWS213 Community Legal Engagement: Pro Bono. Students normally complete introductory 100-level units before advanced 200, 300 and 400-level units in sequence, and students in this course are not permitted to enrol in the honours thesis units LAWS450 and LAWS451.
