Common Questions
For the Bachelor of Commerce component, you can choose from the following major sequences: accounting, economics, finance, financial planning, human resource management, management, and marketing. Note that accounting and financial planning are the recommended pathways to qualify for membership of professional organisations.
To complete the Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Analytics, you must pass 32 credit points in total: 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Commerce (including 8 credit points of core units and 1 major of 8 credit points, with a minimum of 4 credit points of Faculty of Business and Law units at level 3) and 16 credit points from the Bachelor of Business Analytics (including 14 credit points of core units, 1 credit point of Work Integrated Learning or approved international learning experience, and 1 credit point of open elective units).
Yes, students are required to complete one credit point of Work Integrated Learning. You can choose from units such as Business for Social Impact (MWL305), Consultancy Experience (MWL316), Entrepreneurship Experience (MWL317), Internship (MWL318), or International Consultancy Experience (MWL319), or an approved international learning experience such as a study program, student exchange, or overseas short course.
The course is available across three intakes: Trimester 1 starting in March, Trimester 2 starting in July, and Trimester 3 starting in November. All three intakes are available at both the Burwood (Melbourne) campus and Online.
The lowest selection rank ATAR (based on 2026 early and first round VTAC offers, including relevant adjustment factors) is 80.15 for Burwood and 81.90 for Online. The Deakin Guaranteed ATAR — which provides guaranteed admission at a lower ATAR for eligible students — is 70 for Burwood and 72 for Online. For Year 12 applicants, you also need a study score of at least 25 in English EAL or at least 20 in English other than EAL, and an unadjusted ATAR of at least 50.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
